What to Wear for Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day, the day of love!
Every day should be filled with love, however, life gets busy with work, kids, health and bills.
So sometimes it’s not on our radar, or made as much of a fuss over, as a day celebrated to express this love and affection in quite a public way!
Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to remind yourself, that you can show yourself love by creating space in your day to do something very special for yourself.
This can be either doing something simple that you enjoy, such as reading, watching a chick flick, yoga, walk along the beach heading to the movies with a girlfriend or out for a drink – or whatever inspires you to feel fantastic!
It’s also a great time to reflect on how you can make yourself feel all warm and fuzzy, rather than relying on others to do it for you.
This can be in the form of taking time to focus on the positives of your life, your incredible life experience, career, family and friends and paying yourself some well-earned compliments!
What do I mean by this?
I really encourage every client and every woman for that matter to love the skin they are in!
Need further encouragement to do so, then check out my blog on your perception of yourself and how to reframe your thinking and how to build your self-esteem.
For those of you that love to use this special day to bring a spark to your relationship and further your connection you can opt to do go the full pamper session for Valentine’s Day!

The big question is what to wear on Valentine’s Day?
The weather can often dictate this, especially in Melbourne!
Your Valentine’s Day outfit will be situation based. If your partner is surprising you, ask him for some hints so that you are at least prepared!
Traditionally red and white are tops picks for colours, however, please don’t feel obligated by this.
Did you know that:
The colour red symbolizes love.
The colour white symbolizes purity.
The colour pink is the combination of both!
My tips for colour:
- Red top and pants/skirt
- White top and pants/skirt
- Floral dresses in red and white
- White dresses
- Red dresses
- Pastel tones – head-to-toe
- Soft neutral and black floral prints
I believe the outfit should represent you and how you want to project.
Even wearing a pretty, sexy black dress and a red lippy can be a great option.
Perfume, hair done, nice underwear and something you feel great in to wear, you can’t go wrong!
Valentine’s Day is a day renowned for popping the bid Q! If there is even the remotest chance of this happening to you be prepared!!
If you are out to buy something new for the big day, my picks for shops to find something that works across all budgets are:
- Zimmerman – floral, floaty, feminine
- Ted Baker – floral, sophisticated, elegant
- Alannah Hill – feminine, luxury
- Cue – classic, edgy
- Forever New – Feminine, elegant
- Sheike – Fun, sexy
Don’t forget shoes! Think about the environment you’ll be in as well as the colour of your outfit!
- Black heels/wedges
- White heels/wedges
- Nude heels/wedges
- Red heel 😊
Try a soft pretty pink lippy or go for red for a little vavoom!
Remember it is a day to have fun and be in the spirit of the event, but don’t take it too seriously.
Most importantly and simply, it is a day to take a moment to acknowledge that special person in your life.
Whatever you choose do, I hope it’s fun!

Cindy Newstead says
Wow that sounds like fun!!!!!! If its going to be hot, try a light weight summer dress and some low wedges would be really pretty ( Probably not rock Chic depends on the dress 🙂 ) then just take a cardi as weather back up!!!!
